YouTube Thumbnail Grabber
To download a YouTube thumbnail, paste a video link, a youtu.be or Shorts URL, or the 11-character video id, then pick a size from 1280 × 720 down to 320 × 180. Only the sizes that exist for that video are shown. The images load straight from YouTube's public files, with no account or API key.

How to use YouTube Thumbnail Grabber
- 1Paste a YouTube link, a youtu.be short link, a Shorts URL, or the 11-character video id.
- 2The sizes that exist for that video appear as previews.
- 3Press Download under the one you want.
- 4Sizes a video does not have are simply not shown.
How it works
YouTube generates a set of thumbnail images for every upload and serves them as ordinary public files, named by video id and size. This tool works out the id from whichever URL shape you paste and points at those files directly — there is no API key, no login and nothing scraped from the page.
Four sizes are offered, from 1280 × 720 down to 320 × 180. Not every video has the largest: uploads from before high-definition thumbnails, and some lower resolution videos, stop at 480 × 360. A size that does not exist is detected when its preview fails to load and is dropped from the list rather than offered as a broken download.
The id itself is always 11 characters of letters, digits, hyphens and underscores, which is why a bare id works as well as a full link.
A thumbnail is the creator's work. Using one for reference, a review, a link preview or research is ordinary use; passing it off as your own is not.
Tips and common mistakes
- Paste any form of link — a full URL, a youtu.be link, a Shorts URL or just the 11-character id.
- Take the largest size offered; you can always shrink it later, but not enlarge it.
- Use thumbnails for reference, review and research, and credit the channel when you show one.
- If only smaller sizes appear, the video simply has no high-definition thumbnail.
