How it works

JPEG images are embedded directly with no re-encoding, so their quality is untouched. PNG and WebP images are converted to a PDF-compatible encoding first, since PDF supports a fixed set of image formats.

Each image is scaled to fit within the page margins while keeping its aspect ratio, then centred. Choosing to match the page to the image instead gives every page the exact proportions of its picture, which suits receipts and screenshots.

Images are decoded by the browser, redrawn on a canvas and re-encoded on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no waiting on a queue and no copy of your photos anywhere else.

Tips and common mistakes

  • Crop and straighten each picture first; the PDF can only be as tidy as the images in it.
  • Match the page to the image for receipts and screenshots; choose a standard size like A4 when the PDF will be printed.
  • Compress large photos before adding them if the PDF has to be emailed or uploaded.
  • Check the order in the list before creating the PDF — pages are built exactly in that sequence.
