How it works
JPEG images are embedded directly with no re-encoding, so their quality is untouched. PNG and WebP images are converted to a PDF-compatible encoding first, since PDF supports a fixed set of image formats.
Each image is scaled to fit within the page margins while keeping its aspect ratio, then centred. Choosing to match the page to the image instead gives every page the exact proportions of its picture, which suits receipts and screenshots.
Images are decoded by the browser, redrawn on a canvas and re-encoded on your own machine. Nothing is uploaded, so there is no waiting on a queue and no copy of your photos anywhere else.
